For this project I’m doing an homage to albums that have inspired me over the years, not just the cover images but all the art behind it, music, videos, colours, merchandising, all the media behind the album I’m referring to in the final image.
These albums represent stages of my life in relation with my love for music, this is about my progress into hip hop culture and how it influenced my life.
2. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Ye (Kanye West) | The album that made me think there’s such a thing like perfection and made me fall in love with concept albums.
3. Awaken, My Love by Childish Gambino | Dropped when I started my first job and accompanied me through my first shock of real life where I realized the life I was living was not what I wanted from life and made me realized I had depression.
4. IGOR by Tyler, The Creator | After some failed jobs and some searching I realized doing something with a camera is what I wanted to do, so I changed jobs again and started to pursue more creative jobs, that involved me using a camera, either doing video or pictures, this album inspired me to think that I can do more creative things, if Tyler, The Creator could challenge his audience with a change on his music and create a great album and win a Grammy, I think I can do my thing too.
5. Call Me If You Get Lost/Call Me If You Get Lost: The Estate Sale by Tyler, The Creator Call Me If You Get Lost | is an album that dropped in June 25, 2021, the second part called “Call Me If You Get Lost: The Estate Sale” dropped in March 31, 2023. It represents for me, years of change, travelling and broadening my horizons, to a point where I could think what I used to think are dreams can be goals to achieve.
1. Graduation by Ye (Kanye West) | Showed me another face of what I though Hip-hop was and made me fall in love a genre I used to dismiss.
